Robert Franks has been in touch, to shed some light on a rumour about a connection between Sikhs and 2012. The connection was apparently mentioned in a bestseller by
Sarah Macdonald called 'Holy Cow':
"On page 108, she mentions
'the first white sikh' Guru Singh who 'predicts it'll
all end in 2012'.
He's connected to Yogi Bhajan who started the Kundalini Yoga movement in
California in the sixties.
Anyway, the reference seems just a personal opinion and nothing to do with the
Sikh calendar or official beliefs, so probably not worth following up."
Dire Gnosis has received a communication from someone who would prefer to remain anonymous, that once again shows a connection between the neurochemical, dimethytryptamine (DMT), and the year 2012:
"I've only just stumbled across these 2012 theories and I noticed you mentioned the hallucinogenic brew ayahuasca, with the active ingredient, dimethyltryptamine. Now this is the part that scared me, because I have taken 5MeO-DMT several times and N,N-DMT countless times. but recently I've been having reoccurring hallucinations which take me back through to being an unborn foetus and then shoots me back further in time again to what seems to be the big bang. The wave of energy given off by the explosion of all matter shoots me in the opposite direction in time to a point in the year 2012. At this point in time all beings of consciousness, animal, man and even plants, alien life forms and rocks; consciousness and energies are as one for a brief moment, until there is a great gravitational force that pulls all matter in the universe in to a central point reducing everything to pure energy in wait for the next cycle of existence to be born.
I've told few people of this because, number one, they'll most likely lock me up in an institution, and two, because I feel that possibly there is a reason for myself to carry this information. I'm not sure if this will even be relevant to you, but here it is."
Mel Gibson is currently filming his next film, Apocalypto, in Mexico. He met the governor of the state of Campeche to discuss the possibility of filming among the Maya ruins at the ancient city of Edzna. The filming was due to start in October, and although early reports said that the film was to be set 3,000 years ago, later reports said it was to be set only 500 years ago. It will be filmed entirely in the Mayan language (an ancient Maya dialect: Náhuatl, according to one report), and will utilize local indigenous Mayan actors. the film is due for release in summer 2006, and the plot is being kept a closely-guarded secret. Given the title and location, plus the content of Gibson's last film, (The Passion of The Christ), it is not surprising that some reports are concluding that the plot concerns 2012 and the return of Christ, yet the subject matter has been officially stated to be non-religious. However, Aztlan site has conjectured that the subject concerns the end of the Catholic church, as predicted by Saint Malachy (these pages get December 2012 confused with October 2012, by the way). Robert Bast's Antville news site suggests that the subject may be the Spanish conquest of the Maya.
Here is a selection of headlines since the last 2012 News that have appeared in the online "tabloid", India Daily. The credibility of these news reports has been questioned by several researchers and internet sources!
The website of The 2012 Group finally has something original on it, telling of a dream in which a time doorway between December 3rd and December 30th 2012 was revealed:
"...Then one night I was shown a door in a dream. The door began to open on December 03, 2012 and closed on December 30, 2012. As you will no doubt note, there are four important dates between December 03 and December 30, each one nine days apart. In numerology, the number 9 is a “prime” number, significant in transitions. I believe whatever is going to happen will actually begin in a small way on December 03, gaining momentum towards December 12, the majority effect to occur on December 21 and a last chance on December 30. (Is it possible that the zero in front of the 3 represents “opening” and the zero after the 3 represents “closing”?)"
The 2012 Group states its intended goal is: "...to help everyone prepare for what could possibly be the greatest event modern man has ever experienced." But the site also confesses that, "What began as a fundraiser for Spirit of Life Spiritualist Church in Minneapolis, has become a business to promote spiritual understanding."
As well as finding underground water and landscape energy patterns and lines, dowsers have other skills such as map dowsing, in which a pendulum is held over a map instead of going to the location. It has recently come to light that dowsing skills can also be used to look into the future, and it seems that something strange happened when dowsers got to 2012...
The dowser who got these results is an ex-UK government physicist (retired), who has not given me permission to use his name. He dowsed the arrival of a colossal 400-foot high wave over Southern England in 2008, and in 2012, Saturn will be hit by an incoming object such as an asteroid or planet-sized object. This will affect Jupiter's gravity and cause a tsunami in advance. Map dowsing of star maps was used in the revelation. There was also some connection with a black hole and the church at Avebury "pointing to 2012". From scribbled notes on the back of an envelope during a phone conversation.
The Alienshift site is convinced that there will be an asteroid impact on Febraury 6th in either 2012, 2014 or 2019. The conviction about the event stems from a vision of the webmaster that was experienced during a high fever. However, while the 2012 dating is explained (Montauk, Al Bielek, Remote Viewers and the Maya calendar), the other years 2014 and 2019 are not explained, and the Feb 6th date is only explained as the supposed day after the Antichrist's 50th birthday.
According to Alienshift, in year 2000, time traveller John Titor, from the year 2036 was able to answer questions about the future. Here, he answers questions about 2011 and 2012:
Is there some sort of new world government in place by 2011?
On my world line in 2011, the United States is in the middle of a civil war that has dramatic effects on most of the other Western governments.
Does anything happen in the year 2012? I've heard stories about the world ending.
In my2012, I was 14 years old spending most of my time living, running and hiding in the woods and rivers of central Florida. The civil war was in its 7th year and the world war was three years away. Yes, there are unusual events in 2012 but they do not cause the world to end. Unfortunately, I have decided not to discuss events that you or I can do anything about. It is important that they be a surprise. Perhaps you are familiar with the story of the Red Sea and the Egyptians?
A surfer called BlueUfo has replied to the Sikhs and 2012 item (item 184 above):
"..over de american sikhs kundalini movement..."guru Bajhan"....I have been for a short while member of this white sikhs business ...it would be more appropiate to say that I have been one of the slaves of this "guru Bajhan" money maker enterprise. I had never seen before such a fake spiritual ethical business ....I 'm quite sure that this money makers movement has nothing to do with coming happenings on 2012." posted by BlueUfo at telektronon
UK Physicist, Dr. Ian C. Baillie was obsessed with the confederate army from an early age, and eventually he discovered convincing evidence that he had lived a past life as a confederate soldier in the American civil war. The soldier had the same surname - Baillie - and the same patterns repeated in his life. Then "Doc Baillie" found that he had had an earlier incarnation as a soldier named Baillie, again with the same life script. He has now unlocked the memory of 9 past incarnations and finds that in his current life, he has visited all the locations visited in previous lives. The Doc has written 2 books, Rebel Spirit, and Forbidden Science, and is currently working on his third - Intelligent Universe - The Physics Behind the Matrix.
Could it be that we are all in our 10th incarnation at this time of transition? The Doc has concluded that 2012 is the time that we shall all remember our past lives:
"This seems to
be part of a global process that is unfolding and may be the long predicted
end time and the raising of consciousness, for when we can remember
all our physical journeys on this beautiful blue planet we attain the next stage
of our own metaphysical evolution!
The image of the dead rising from their graves on Judgement Day is thus explained as an integration of past life memories into a full personality awakening. This is all reminiscent of the Celestial Gates of the Greek Philosopher, Macrobius (the summer and winter solstice points on the ecliptic, which have precessed to their current position on the Galactic equator). In his book, Mystery Religions of the Ancient World, Jocelyn Godwin says that the Golden Gate (the area of the sky where Galactic Alignment occurs through 2012), "leads beyond the circle of necessity, i.e. to release from the round of birth and death..." So in 2012, we will integrate our past lives.
The Tzutujil Maya believed we should remember previous incarnations in previous eras before passing into 6th world, as ripe fruits - see Whats New item 111.
In the Hopi ceremony called Wuwuchim, which seems to definitely be connected with a measuring of precession (see Beyond 2012 p.31-32), initiates undergo a "spiritual rebirth", and Galactic Alignment is the rebirth of the solar deity Hunahpu (and Osiris, according to Rush Allen). The snake, a widely-used symbol in Mesoamerica, is the symbol of rebirth, with its skin-shedding; could this rebirth process perhaps include a re-integration of past lives?
In a discussion on the DMT Tribe , Bernhard points out that Barbara Marciniak's book, Earth: Pleiadian Keys to the Living Library, channelled from Pleiadians, suggests that our endocrine systems are just about to evolve, and that the pineal and hypothalamus, amongst other glands, will be affected. This will cause an internal secretion of a psychedelic substance into the bloodstream. Amazingly, this is one of the conclusions in the book, Beyond 2012, and it was reached by deduction, with no channelling. Marciniak/ the Pleiadians say:
"You will never
be the same once your hypothalamus secretion starts. Have you ever ingested a
psychedelic? How would you like to live, balancing that reality, twenty-four
hours a day? It wouldn’t work; it would be entirely too confusing. It is fine
for what is called a trip. It is fine for a journey into learning – into the
shamanic, mysterious, Living Library realms. However it certainly is not
something you want for breakfast every day. The rest of the nervous system is
not in sync with that awareness. When you take what is called a trip, it is
exactly that – like going to the country or to the shore for the weekend. You
go, you experience it, and then you come back and contemplate it.

A review of the book on Amazon UK says,
"The entire book is focused on our spiritual evolution which will peak in 2012 when we will have entered the fifth dimension", so the process is also linked in to the whole 2012 scenario, according to this source.
Twice in the last few weeks, Sue McCormick's mobile phone has received a text message from "2012". I (Straydog) was with her on both these occasions. When accessed, the message was blank. It then moved position in the inbox, before disappearing. There was nobody listed on her phone under the title 2012, so who, and where it came from is a mystery. On the second occasion, we were just about to enter a spiritualist meeting, where a medium would bring messages from beyond the veil. Sue was the very first person that the medium addressed, and I was the second, in which I was amazed to hear from a bus driver friend who passed on a few years ago.
Is the mobile phone message linking up the 2012 phenomenon with post-mortem contact? Will our plane of existence merge with the world beyond the veil?
Has anyone else out there had anything similar? If so, please Contact Diagnosis2012.
In Whats New item 151, it was revealed that the Silbury Hill crop formation of 2004 - the so-called "Doomsday Crop Circle", did not really have anything to do with the Maya calendars, despite all the hype, which originated from a certain C. Lewis. For the full information, see the Swirled News 2004 article. In 2005, there were more so-called "Mayan formations", (at Waylands Smithy & Uffington, Wiltshire, UK), and again, C. Lewis came up with a complex theory (online at Crop Circle Connector), to explain the Maya connections. However, again, Mr Lewis made errors, despite corrections based on my 2004 critique. It is now confirmed that C. Lewis is the same person as the "Australian scientist" that wrote a further article on Linda Moulton Howe's site, and that "C. Lewis" is a pseudonym based on the Christian author, C. S. Lewis. For the whole story, see the Swirled News 2005 article.
If you remember the item on Dan Burisch (Whats New item 174 - Doctrine of Convergent Timeline Paradox), you may be interested to know about a new website that collects the Burisch material together. It is http://www.danburisch.info/ . Here are some extracts:
"The history books of the J-rods speak - so we are told - of a catastrophe striking Earth in 2012 caused by an outpouring of solar energy, which opens manmade and natural stargates - resulting in a Poleshift....
...the Black Holes in the position of space earth is in - at this 2012 timeframe may also have an important role to play. The aetheric charges on stars and the spaces between them is likely to impact on 'the dimensional shift' that will be about to take place..." http://www.danburisch.info/b2/analysis/an_simple3.html
"Project Preserve Destiny: (PPD): goes back to before 1960 and which is concerned with efforts to prepare at least some segments of the human population for the cataclysms expected in the 2012 time-frame." http://www.danburisch.info/b2/glossary1.htm
"Between now and 2012, mankind is facing the prospect of a worldwide catastrophe, which is why Project Preserve Destiny (PPD) was devised and implemented by Maji scientists at the behest of their progeny-kin allies in the 1960s. The cause of the catastrophe is not known definitively, but it is thought to be triggered by the sun showering high-energy particles on the myriad of stargates stationed around the earth’s equator, which will activate and cause an earth-shattering geographical pole-shift. It’s been promulgated by the J-Rods’ Yellow-Book, that if the stargates aren’t disabled in time, then present-day mankind will face a near-extinction calamity, with billions dead. Stargate technology allows high vibrational energies to pass through great distances in space, facilitating travelling through time. Dr Burisch stated that there were two stargates in Baghdad, Iraq, and both had beendisabled after Gulf War II. The J-Rods are responsible for leaving behind these stargates, although many natural stargate-wormholes are thought to exist at some well-known sacred sites around the globe. A magnetic pole-shift is already happening, with unexplained magnetic and gravitational influences now affecting the earth. Pole-shifts are nothing new in the history of this planet and have been recorded in layers of volcanic rock (the rock has retained the orientation of the earth’s magnetic field as it cooled).....
....Dr Burisch asserts that the best minds behind the DCTP (Doctrine of the Convergent Timeline Paradox) are aiming to reset earth-time in 2012, avert the worldwide catastrophe that is recorded in the future history books, and split the races (that is, Present-day humankind, the J-Rods and Tall Orion Whites) into three separate ones, thus time-shifting the "future humans" to our present as unrelated aliens. The Rogue J-Rod faction does not share this vision of three separated races, and would rather the catastrophe play out as it is written in the Yellow-Book. An "Ark" is virtually complete to take away a portion of humanity to the moon and mars and beyond in the event of a catastrophe." http://www.danburisch.info/b2/analysis/an_kith.htm
Excerpt from an email from the director of the Lotus project:
> > > > > > YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY CEASE ALL ELECTRICAL STIMULATION ACTIVITIES AT THE FRENCHMAN'S MOUNTAIN COMPLEX!
> > > > > > Geometric analysis this evening provided sufficient evidence to conclude that we may very well be interacting with an Ophanic (Angelic) Stargate at the Frenchman's Mountain Complex. Further, the destination (or node) of the Stargate is known: Alnilan (Epsilon Orionis), Orion System.... http://www.danburisch.info/b2/analysis/an_simple3.html
If this suggestion of a stargate connecting to a belt star of Orion sounds familiar, that is because we mentioned one in Whats New item 33 - The Romanek Mystery and the Cube of Space , but that connected to Mintaka (Delta Orionis) or AlNitak (Zeta Orionis). In this case, Epsilon Orionis is cited, which is the central star in Orion's belt, and which corresponds to the Khafre pyramid at Giza in Egypt. In Whats New item 178, Torsion-Wave energy From Galactic Centre, pyramid experimenters reported their pyramids temporarily disappeared when the Earth crossed an imaginary line between the Sun and the belt stars of Orion. Richard Hoagland suggested a 2012 connection for this event, and that connects us to the next item....
Richard Hoagland will be doing two 2012 workshops at the Conscious Life expo in Los Angeles in February 2006 (see 2012 Events page). He is also on the "Countdown to 2012" panel discussion. Countdown to 2012 is also the subtitle of an article on his Enterprise Mission website, "The Age of Horus Dawns or The Time is Now...Because it's Later Than You Think"(hyperlinks to the article from other pages of his site are titled Countdown to 2012). However, the massive article never seems to get around to explaining the 2012 connection. The connection is summarised in a transcript of a radio interview between Richard Hoagland, David Wilcock and Art Bell:
RH: Yeah. If you imagine that we have lines going from the North Pole from the South Pole, going across the Equator -- like the line at Greenwich, where the day begins -- that’s the modern equivalent of the ancient line that went from the pole down through the Great Pyramid, and [on] down to the South Pole. That used to be the [Prime] Meridian of the Earth.
So, what I did was, I set up a calculation and I looked out as if I was standing in the King’s chamber [of the Great Pyramid], and the Pyramid was transparent. I was looking towards the south, at midnight, on that “magic night” [December 31, 1999] -- when Zahi wanted to do his Big Ceremony… and by the way, invite about half of the big wigs from all over the planet, including George Bush Sr., and the Prince of Wales, and God knows who else, in that desert ceremony. You knew that was part of the plan, right?
AB: I knew it was magnificent, yes.
RH: The biggest party ever thrown. But it was the wrong date! The Millennium, as we know, was 2000 to 2001. Not “1999 to 2000.” And no wiggling the figures can make a fact “wrong” or “right” -- the numbers are “the numbers.” So I kept asking myself, “Why do they want to have this huge planetary party on the wrong night? A year ahead of when it should be taken care of …?”
It turned out very simply that that was the night for the only time -- get this David -- in galactic history, when Sirius crossed the Meridian, the ancient Giza Meridian -- precisely at midnight.
RH: From then on, it is to the East of the Meridian (and it was to the West before). So that was like a dividing line...
AB: I know this has great meaning for Richard, but I…
RH: Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. We’re not getting to the good stuff yet.
If you look at that line -- where it is in the sky -- and you extend that line (like a celestial Meridian) out into space … so it goes through, you know, where Sirius is in the sky, if you track twelve degrees to the East -- one degree per year (which is how Sirius will move, in relation to the Earth, and in relation to the Galactic Center) -- when that alignment occurs at midnight at 2012 -- that will be the Winter Solstice, and “D-Day” will have arrived!
HOAGLAND GOES ON TO EXPLAIN THAT THE PYRAMIDS WERE DESIGNED TO STOP THE EARTH GOING THROUGH ANOTHER POLE SHIFT...
In other words, that [planned Giza 2000] Ceremony marked the beginning of a 12-year [countdown] “clock!”
DW: Right -- I got it!
RH: The final countdown to “something” … happening in 2012 -- by these guys, led by Zahi, who know “something” … that they are not wanting the rest of us to figure out!
The archaeologists and Mayanists refer to the most prominent king of Palenque (whose sarcophagus lid depicts him ascending the World Tree, but which Von Daniken misinterpreted as a man in a space ship), as Lord Pacal. Yet many people are now referring to Pacal as "Pacal Votan". However, Pacal and Votan were totally different people, who lived centuries apart. Here are the facts:
Votan and his fellow leaders ...founded Na-Chan, the "city of Serpents", which Ordonez identified with Palenque. Archaeologically speaking, such an assumption makes little sense, and today, this famous Maya city is considered to have been built as late as AD600 by a local king named Pacal. Either Votan founded another city altogether, or Palenque marks the site of a much earlier settlement." Gateway to Atlantis, Andrew Collins, p.335
Votan was a mythical culture hero who led an expedition that sailed to the Americas and taught the basics of government, dividing up the lands into provinces. He came from a land called Valum-Chivim, which was identified by Friar Ramon de Ordonez y Aguilar (canon of Ciudad-Real in Chiapas, Mexico), as Israel. On the way to America, Votan stayed at a place called Valum Votan, which Ordonez identified as Cuba. See Gateway to Atlantis, Andrew Collins, p.334 - 347
The confusion seems to have started here.
Daniel O'Brien has had recurring dreams of 2 moons in 2012:
"I have been
trying to figure out what the meaning of this reoccurring prophetic catastrophic
dream I always have means. But before I begin I want to tell you about my dream
potential. First off, I've had dream sharing on multiple occasions, I have lucid
dreams on a regular basis where I practice flying (I've gotten quite fast at
it), manipulation and use of outside energy, going to other worlds (sometimes
watching other worlds at war), completely change the scenery like pulling a
curtain if I don't like the dream, fight many DC's while flying around with
confidence, and even can leave my lucid dream body and can go thousands of miles
in a matter of seconds observe the situation and immediately return to my dream
Swedish researcher, Carl Calleman has recently announced that Don Alejandro, the Head of the Maya Council of Elders no longer supports the 2012 end-point of the 13-baktun cycle. However, John Major Jenkins has looked into the matter and found that Mr. Calleman has somewhat distorted the facts in order to bolster his own invented version of the Maya calendar, in which he claims that the 13-baktun cycle ends on 28th October 2011.
The fact is, that Don Alejandro, who has previously (Mayan Prediction: a Dark Cloud... ) stated the significance of 2012 (see also Beyond 2012 p.210-211), on several occasions (in fact, he made a film about it, called Year Zero - see 2012 Video page), has now emphasised that the Transition process is one that can be expected to build over time, rather than all happening in one instant, which is an interpretation that does not actually dilute the significance of the 21st December 2012 end-date, and certainly doesn't show any support for a 2011 end-date as Calleman implies.
Here is the entire email exchange between John Major Jenkins and Carl Calleman, which is entertaining reading:
The article, The 2012 Phenomenon: New Age Appropriation of an Ancient Mayan Calendar, by Robert Sitler of Stetson University, has recently appeared on the Novo Religio site, and questions the current interest in 2012 as being based on nothing more than the date of "a cyclical change in an ancient calendar". (NB this article is currently only accessible to subscribers by paying a fee of $12). However, Dire Gnosis points out in an open letter, that Mr. Sitler is unaware of many of the pertinent facts that challenge the main points of his essay...
Read the Dire Gnosis letter here plus ensuing email exchange...
...and here is a new page on John Major Jenkins' Alignment 2012 site that looks at the Maya evidence for 2012:
See Robert Sitler's site: OxlajujB'ak'tun
N.B.: As a result of the Dire Gnosis email exchange above, Bob Sitler made some enquiries that were passed on to Maya epigraphers and prompted discussion of a monument at Tortuguero that shows the 2012 end-date...see The Tortuguero Prophecy below.
Someone called Jim has contacted Diagnosis2012:
"Through my shamanic visions I've been told to go to Peru ! And to be ready for the last days of 2012 . These visions have come to me strongly during the last 20 years. During the last 5 years I have come to understand more and more of the many aspects of my visions, and from several points of view. One thing comes very clear to me about it, and that is the origin of these "messages". Peru. I know I have to be there. I've been told to be there for some reason. I also know that I'm not alone to have received these messages..."
Jim has been told to "travel on the water", (perhaps because a potential geomagnetic reversal may cause problems with aeroplane computers).
After a request for more information from Dire Gnosis, Jim said,
"I've been 'told' that many people have been presented
with certain 'information' and places to go. And that this accumulates towards
the different energy places on our planet. I've dreamt about planetary and
galactic alignments. About certain events to see as guidestones up towards the
This sounds like the STS (service to self) versus STO (service to others) choice mentioned by some channels. Jim says we should listen to our intuition to ascertain our own best position for the Transition.
Baseball star Darren Daulton had an out-of-body experience on pitch in 1997. This started a metamorphosis that led to glimpses into the astral realm, and Daulton is now convinced that December 2012 will bring a massive change for mankind:
"In the interview, Daulton says he had his first out-of-body experience in Wrigley Field, in Chicago, when he got a game-winning hit. He stepped outside his body and watched someone else swing the bat -- which he knows because the hit went to left field, and Daulton was a notorious pull hitter."
That was the first time I realized it," he said. "I remember coming out of the stadium and I started crying. (Nicole) said, `What's wrong? You just got the game-winning hit.' And I said, `I didn't hit that ball. Something happened, but it wasn't me."..."It was four or five years (after that day in Wrigley Field) that I started seeing this other dimension," he said. "I saw (former Phillies manager) Lee Elia, my folks, my brother running on the beach. They were all much younger. But it was real."......If he had to boil it down to one sentence, it would be this: "We need to stop judging each other. Because every one of us is on a different path." But there's more to it than peace and harmony. Daulton is convinced that the day of reckoning is coming soon. Specifically, on Dec. 21, 2012, at 11:11 a.m. Greenwich Mean Time, the chosen will simply vanish from this plane of existence. "That will be the end of this dispensation," he said. "I really don't know how to explain it. I don't know what words to use so people won't think I'm goofy. But by Dec. 21, 2012 (the last day recorded on the Mayan calendar), people will have a pretty good idea. It's all about consciousness and love. We have the ability to create whatever we want. We're all made of energy." And, he says, the speed at which that energy vibrates creates different dimensions."..He recently completed a 32,000-word manuscript he hopes to have published. Tentative title: "If They Only Knew."
Just as Darren feared, due to his statements concerning 2012, he has now been pronounced goofy in these news articles: Darren Daulton Has Gone Plum Damn Crazy and Darren Daulton done lost his mind. He has replied in his defence to say that he was misquoted by some media when he said that 2012 would be the end of this dispensation, which they interpreted as an end-of-the-world prophecy:
"The 98 Rock morning show has been hammering Daulton daily since the SI story hit the newsstands, especially for his reported claim that the end of the world is coming in 2012. “I never said that,” Daulton told 98 Rock. “That's what was printed. If it is the end of the world, I'd like to know about it.“I was asked about the Mayan calendar. The end of the Mayan calendar is 2012. That's the end of this distant station of time. It's a level of consciousness that will be raised. But it's not the end of the world."
Other summaries of Daulton's philosophy include the following :
Daulton holds a series of unusual beliefs related to conspiracies, conspiracies, metaphysics, and numerology. He maintains that the universe is created and sustained by numerical synchronicities, and that all matter is charged with vibrational energy, which has escaped human perception because it is extradimensional in origin. He believes that those who are conscious of this energy can manipulate it to affect reality in different ways, such as altering the weather. He also believes that the pyramids and Mayan temples were created by a lost civilization, and that people with knowledge of the workings of the system will "ascend" at the conclusion of the Mayan calendar on Dec. 21, 2012, at 11:11 a.m. (Greenwich Mean Time), vanishing into a new plane of existence
Lidz closes with this nugget from Daulton: Earth, Daulton believes, is entering a quadrant of space in which the "vibrational energy" will increase dramatically. "The Mayan calendar stops at Dec. 21, 2012 -- the date the Mayans believed the world would end," he says. "On that day, at 11:11 a.m. Greenwich Mean Time, those who are ready to ascend will vanish from this plane of existence, like the crew of the Enterprise in Star Trek."
The latest results of the annual 2012 Dream Project are now online at Dreaming Our Way to 2012 with dreams, some of which are lucid, that were deliberately induced to supply visions of the year 2012. Participants are asked to answer the following questions, before describing their 2012 dreams:
1. Write a brief paragraph on what
you’ve heard about 2012.

In 1995, the following prediction was "received" by someone drifting into a dissociated state at their computer:
"Back in about 1995....I just got a computer and was figuring out the fledgling web.....But just looking up music people I like...not any end times stuff really too much on the web back then....at least that I knew of.....I remember sitting there and going into a prayerful/meditative state of mind for some reason...thinking about the future....my future...everyone's future......And I just decided to 'ask' in a general way about some highlights in the future to be aware of.....VERY powerfully, I received two dates.....2006, and 2012 (at this time, there was little if any discussion about the significance of 2012.....it was not at all the mainstream topic it is now......) What I was 'told' was that there would be an invasion or military type attack on the U.S. in 2006 by Russia....that a blatant communist resurgence and attack would occur in some fashion in 2006....this year was to be the beginning of the end in real terms for the U.S.....And that simply 'it would all end' in 2012. Again, I knew nothing of the significance of the date of 2012. Now, I don't currently believe that its the end of the world in 2012....but something ENDS at that time, I am sure.....something changes so drastically....that it could be considered The End......"
VERY LATE NEWS (30 years late): Monument 6 at the Classic Maya site at Tortuguero shows glyphs for the end of the 13-baktun cycle (188.8.131.52.0). Epigrapher Dave Stuart has just (April 2006) offered a new translation of the inscription (see below)
Note, Baktun 13, 4 Ahau, 3 Kankin:
The original drawings by Sven Gronemayer can be found here:
How the "news" broke
Following the email discussion between Dire Gnosis and Robert Sitler mentioned in Whats New item 201 above, Sitler made another enquiry amongst Mayanists at the Aztlan discussion group, as to whether any monuments had been found that have anything to say about 2012 - see Aztlan] MA: Mayan perspectives on the closing of the b'ak'tun (he had already made general enquiries in January 2006 - see [Aztlan] Mayan prophetic sources? ) Elaine Day Schele then posted a report of the Darren Daulton prediction (see Whats New item 203 above), and [Aztlan] The Ancient Mayan Prophecy of 2012 also posted it on the University of Texas Mesoamerica discussion group. The Maya epigrapher (specialist in inscriptions) Dave Stuart replied, saying that there was a monument at Tortuguero that mentions the 2012 end-date [Aztlan] Prophecy of 2012 - Dave Stuart's Response. This thread was then taken up on the UT Mesoamerica discussion group, and can be followed here:
This led to a new thread in which Dave Stuart supplied a new translation of the Tortuguero monument (monument 6), and the interpretation was discussed. Follow the thread here:
The Classic Maya site of Tortuguero is situated on the Northernmost slopes of the highlands of Chiapas, Mexico, and Mayanists have known for about 30 years that Monument 6, (which was originally a T-shaped monument covered with inscriptions), mentions the end-point of the 13-baktun cycle. This is the only Maya inscription found to date, that does so. The left "wing" of the monument is missing, the central section is partly effaced, and the part where the prophecy is recorded has a big crack through it, making full translation virtually impossible.
In 2002, Nikolai Grube, Simon Martin, and Marc Zender provided a partial translation of the text:
"At the end of the 13th b'akhtun, on 4 Ajaw 3 K'ank'in)...it will happen' ... and he 'will descend'..."
In response to the Sitler/Schele postings, Dave Stuart offered a new translation. First he gives a transliteration:
Tzuhtz-(a)j-oom u(y)-uxlajuun pik
...then the new translation:
"The Thirteenth Bak'tun" will be finished (on) Four Ahaw, the Third of K'ank'in. ? will occur. (It will be) the descent(?) of the Nine Support (?) God(s) to the ?."
Dave Stuart then has this to say about the Bolon Yookte' K'uh or the Nine Gods:
"The term following uht-oom is the main puzzle, and largely effaced. The "descent" reference is highly tentative, too. The enigmatic deity Bolon Yookte' K'uh has been known for some time from many sources, and I suspect that he (or they) has some tangential relationship to the Principal Bird Deity, as well as war associations. Interestingly, he is a protagonist in the deep time mythology of Palenque, as recorded on Palenaue's Temple XIV tablet. A long-lasting character who's still around somewhere waiting, I suppose."
John Major Jenkins has followed this up with an analysis of the monument and the meaning of the Nine Gods:
Daniel Pinchbeck’s first book, Breaking Open the Head, about the author’s travels around the world, meeting shamans and sampling their sacred hallucinogenic medicines, was widely acclaimed. Thus his next book 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl was awaited impatiently by many, and being published by Penguin, had the advantage of pre-sales hype, and pre-orders awaiting its release. Dire Gnosis reviews Pinchbeck's latest offering and offers him right of reply...
Swedish biologist Carl Calleman thought Diagnosis2012 was ignoring him, and started circulating rumours that the site prefers to consider catastrophe theories than ones based around an evolution of consciousness. Calleman's theory was not discussed here originally because I was just about to post a review of his book when Diagnosis2012 hosted the Jenkins/Calleman debate. I held off with the review to retain impartiality, so that the debate could proceed without any outside influence, but Calleman is right - now is the time to review his theory, which has become so well circulated that some are now calling it "the Mayan calendar". So here is the "Calleman Solution" - the Dire Gnosis review of Calleman's first book, Solving the Greatest Mystery of Our Time, The Mayan Calendar:
The recent publication of The Ark of Millions of Years Volume Two sounded interesting, since the subtitle is 2012 and the Harvest of the End Times. The 331-page book has very poor quality graphics, many of which are blurred and pixelated images downloaded from the net with no acknowledgement to their origin. There is an acknowledgement of the author's cat, however - the book is dedicated to it! The authors, E.J. Clark and B. Alexander Agnew, Ph.D seem to see themselves as archaeologist-explorers in the vein of Indiana Jones, but their book shows that they have simply read a few New Age authors such as Arguelles, Yaxkin-Joy and/or Hunbatz Men, (or more likely, got the information second hand, off the internet), have misunderstood them, not done any proper research or checking and have mixed in the Nephilim of Sitchin and a large dose of biblical material. They even attribute the Tzolkin to Abraham or Shem (p.142). In fact it seems that the whole book is an attempt to prove and justify the bible (p.147-148). Their list of errors is huge. Here are a few:
1. Talking of Dreamspell's "galactic tones" and other concepts as if they are genuine artefacts of the Maya calendars (p.117-131)
2. Announce that Arguelles is deceased (p.120)
3. Show 2 Dreamspell Tzolkin grids and say one is the original design, while the other is modern (just because the former includes Maya numerals) p.121`-122.
4. Wrongly state that the Maya used wheels to measure time, since many people use interlocking wheels to help explain Maya calendars. (p.129-131).
5. They call the 52-year Calendar Round and 104-year Venus Round the "short count". The Short Count is actually a 13-katun cycle of just under 260 solar years (260 tuns). (p.132)
6. They state that the Maya had a 28-day lunar cycle. (p.132). The cycle was in fact alternately 29 and 30 days, with extra interpolated 30-day months.
7. They state that "The Tzolk'in (pronounced Zol Keen) is the divine or religious long count calendar of the Maya used to measure the cycles of the Pleiades, a cycle being 26,000 years." (p.132 and also p.141). The Tzolkin is NOT the Long Count, and the rest is an over-simplification - the movement of the Pleiades was used to check the precessional movement towards the alignment in 2012, (by the Maya of Chichen Itza), which only happens every 26,000 years.
8. Another misunderstanding: "The Tzolk'in calendar ends on December 21, 2012, at precisely 11.11.am GMT". (p.143). No, it is the 13-baktun cycle of the Long Count calendar that ends on 21 December 2012, but not at 11.11. That is when the Winter Solstice occurs. It is debateable amongst Mayanists as to when the date rolls over - either dusk, dawn, or midnight.
8. They state that the Haab is the Calendar Round. (p.135)
9. Mixed start and end-dates: start date: Aug 13 3114 BC (p.136) end-date: 23 December 2012 (p.139), buit also talks of Galactic Alignment, (p.136), which is applicable only if the other correlation is used - start date 11 August 3114 BC; end-date 21 December 2012. On p.153, both dates are given, "December 21-23") showing the authors' confusion.
10. "The Aztecs used a sacred calendar called the Tonalpohualli, a long count calendar borrowed from the Mayan Tzolk'in system with some modifications added." The Tzolkin (and Tonalpohualli) ARE NOT the same as the Long Count!
11. The central panel of the Aztec Sunstone is presented as the entire Sunstone. The reason is that it was copied from the internet, and only the central panel of the colour rendition by Roberto Sieck Flandes can be found online. If you want to see the whole painting, see Beyond 2012 colour plates.
12. Galactic Alignment is stated to be "the winding down of precession". Galactic Alignment is a 36-year time window in the 26,000-year cycle of precession - not the end of it.
There are many more errors, but I'm sure you get the gist of this. This book is actually an insult to the intelligence!
Edward Arnold's book, 2012 - Year of the Apocalypse - The Destruction and resurrection of Earth, by Edward Arnold, seemed like it might be interesting. It is 124 pages long, with no pictures. It gives a brief history of UFOs, alien abduction, the Chinese Dropa stones, crop circles, the Greys and Nordics, Gods, Jesus, Tammuz, and it eventually gets around to mentioning 2012 on page 99. As soon as the Maya are mentioned the errors start. The start-date is given as "August 31, 3114 BC" instead of August 13th, which would still be incorrect, as the end-date of 21st December 2012 is given, which applies to the other start-date of 11th August 3114 BC. Arnold also confuses the Calendar Round and the Long Count (P.98-99) and says "This calendar is not like the one we know today, but we did acquire ours from them".
No, Mr.Arnold, we didn't get our calendar from the Maya! This mistake is inexcusable. Arnold goes on to totally misunderstand Galactic Alignment, saying that "During our 250 million year journey around the Galactic Center, our solar system finds its way into the center of the Milky way every 26,000 years, then shortly moves back out." (p.102). Arnold goes on to describe the solar system entering the Dark Rift! (and repeats it on p. 109).I am so gobsmacked at this display of ignorance that I'm beginning to think these books (see item 209 above) are part of a disinformation campaign to pour ridicule on this subject. Arnold goes on to bring in Arguelles' "galactic synchronisation", "which is a solar event. That is why the Maya talk about the coming Solar Age". He also says the sun will go super-nova in 2.5 million years, rather than 4.5 billion, that there were mammoths in Antarctica, and starts talking about Sodom and Gomarrah and "evildoers" being cleansed from the Earth. He says we "can find all we need without lowering ourselves to the ways of heathens and pagans by praying and making ourselves subservient to gods." (p.120). He praises his training in the Marines, which encouraged recruits to leave behind any thoughts of God, and then starts quoting from "the scriptures".(p.120-121).
In some ways, this book is even more nauseating than the Ark of Millions of Years Vol.2 above (Whats New item,209).
Robert Berringer's book, Ancient Gods and Their Mysteries - Will They return in 2012 AD? is better produced than either of the last two books reviewed above (Whats New items 209 and 210), having glossy pages and colour pages. it is 192 pages long and has a reference section plus an index. Berringer starts off by praising Erich von Daniken for his Chariots of the Gods, then mentions Graham Hancock, Robert Bauval and Zecharia Sitchin. "Is this going to be another mix of alternative Egypt theories, ancient astronauts, and the Bible?", is the question that springs to mind. However, John Major Jenkins also receives praise for his work on deciphering the Maya cosmology, so we read on hopefully...the first chapter is about the bible; the second is about Nibiru; the third is about Egyptian gods. the point is made that the gods of the bible, Sumeria and Egypt were all the same gods, and connect with a time around 3,100 BC. In chapter 4, Berringer points out the similarity between Egyptian winged serpents and Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent god of the Toltecs, and that we are in the fifth age according to some Mesoamerican myths; that one of them ended in a flood and that the God of the bible caused a great flood. He quotes Sitchin, who says that the son of Enki was called Thoth in Egypt and Quetzalcoatl in Mesoamerica, and gave the Mesoamericans their 52-year calendar. Although Berringer gets the end-date right as 21st December 2012, he twice has it as December the 12th 2012 (p.50 & 62). This is sloppy and shows a lack of proof-reading.
Chapter 5 is based on Robert Temple's findings in The Sirius Mystery, concluding that Yahweh and Quetzalcoatl came from Sirius and will return here in 2012. The next chapter brings in the Sirius alignments of the great Pyramid, as written about by Bauval and Hancock. The author goes on to point out that several of the earth's sacred sites lie on a straight line that he calls "the old equator" and thinks that this may have something to do with 2012. Chapter 9 contains what I found the most fascinating piece of information in the book, (considering the findings of Weidner and Bridges, that the Hendaye Cross points to "Inca cave, Cuzco, Peru" - see Beyond 2012 p.108): on p.129-130, Berringer quotes from a 1927 book, Jungle Paths and Inca Ruins, by Dr William Montgomery McGovern (p.437):
Concerning the fortress of Sacsayhuaman, to the north of Cuzco:
"Near the fortress are several strange caverns reaching far into the earth. Here altars to the gods of the Deep were carved out of the living rock, and many bones scattered about tell of the sacrifices which were offered up." No surprise so far...Weidner and Bridges quoted this passage in A Monument to the End of Time p.218 and in The Mysteries of the Great Cross of Hendaye p.386, but...) "The end of one of these caverns, Chincana, has never been found. It is supposed to communicate by a long underground passage with the Temple of the Sun, in the heart of Cuzco...Many have gone into the cavern, never to return again. Only a month or two before my arrival, the disappearance of three prominent people in this Inca cave caused the prefect of the province of Cuzco to wall up the mouth of the cavern..."
The book is a lot like Chariots of the Gods plus a 2012 connection, but the author continually states, "we believe...", supposedly thinking he has already convinced the reader. He also consistently spells names wrong e.g. "Stephen Hawkings" and "Zacharia Sitchin". Berringer also gets the 3113 BC start-date (p.37 and 171; 178 - 180) from Sitchin (Gregorian historical dating that does not account for a year zero), while the start-date is now usually written in Gregorian astronomical dating, as 3114 BC, to avoid confusion.
Although I remain unconvinced that the gods will return in 2012, it seems from the Tortuguero Prophecy (see Whats New item 206 above), that this is exactly what the Maya were expecting!
An email from James Henry informed DiaGnosis2012 that a recent report in the Guardian Science Supplement "that Scientists from NOA expect there to be very serve and active sunspot activity on the sun from the end of this year until 2011/2012. In fact they believe that the next solar max will be the most intense since 1957. However no reason is given in the article about why this particular max will be so intense. The article also states that its possible that auras will be observable from regions not normally subject to this type of activity i.e. Mexico, southern Europe."
The San Francisco Chronicle has stated that David Hathaway, solar physics team leader at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Alabama says there is a "huge solar storm" due in 2012, that will "fry power grids, disrupt cell-phone calls, knock satellites back to earth, endanger astronauts in space, and force commercial airliners to change their routes to protect their radio communications and to avoid deadly solar radiation..." SEE ARTICLE
National Geographic: Stronger solar storms could start as early as 2008 and peak in 2012, being between 30% and 50% stronger than the last cycle, says Mausumi Dikpati, a solar scientist with the National Center for Atmospheric Research In Boulder, Colorado. Expect communication and navigation problems, satellite failures and electric grid blackouts. SEE ARTICLE
At a Space Weather convention at the end of April 2006, in Colorado, specialists estimated costs of the 2012 solar storm at around $20 billion. Sten Odenwald of the QSS Corp., based at NASA'a Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt says the 2012 solar storm will kill the older satellites and damage the others, and disrupt global positioning systems.
