The MOTOR-SPORT-MUSEUM at HOCKENHEIM now has the RICKMAN GODDEN on display: website: http://www.classic-motorrad.de/Stories/2008-museum-H-heim/index.htm
This is one of the few Rickman Metisse-framed v-twins on this site (GODDEN METISSE V1000 on WESLAKES and GODDENS; Buell-Metisse on V-TWIN NEWS PAGE 6; the ISR-Metisse on HEDLUNDS AND OTHER SWEDISH V-TWINS; the RICKMAN-WESLAKE on V-TWIN NEWS PAGE 21)... but here are three HDs in Rickman Metisse frames:
While we're on the subject, a few more pictures of the RICKMAN-WESLAKE have surfaced:
BUT... here's a new project from LARRY HOUGHTON (Larry-the-Lamb of LAMB ENGINEERING): a RICKMAN JAP or "DOG-EARED METISSE" (metisse = 'mongrel' in French)

"First run of my home-made honda based v-twin. It has billet machined cases, 2 TB racing 88cc top end kits, an xr100 trans and clutch, and a modified z50 crank with tungsten counterweights. Took about 2 years to design and manufacture. Took about 10 kicks to get it going" :

JAPRIEL
JAP in an Ariel frame with Ariel gearbox and strange forks ... The rear brake pedal is where the gear lever should be (except the seat and footrests and brake lever seem shifted forward) and and the gear lever ... will require extreme right leg movements. Conclusion: designed for a very short person with one leg.
Eric Patterson's Dresda Norton-JAP special that broke records at Bonneville salt flats was sold at Stafford last weekend, along with his Vincent Viscount that still holds a Bonneville speed record. The NorJAP sold for £41,400 and the Viscount sold for £63,250! See superb photos sets at the Bonhams website... click on the main picture in each case, and the full set appears. https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/25384/lot/436/… https://www.bonhams.com/auctions/25384/lot/435/

Amongst other v-twins, this video shows the NORTON-JAP V-TWIN mentioned on V-TWIN NEWS PAGE 18 (second bike in the video), but here it has been improved with a smaller petrol tank, removed air filters, different front carb arrangement, and removed headlight, removed chainguard, removed registration plate, tatty pillion seat replaced by proper racing pad....plus racing numbers added. Looks a lot more purposeful!
Above: Great-sounding Honda CB v-twin made by Puncel Motor
ANOTHER MYSTERY SOLVED:
The mystery apparent "early British crankcases" with Ironhead Harley Sportster top end is actually a fake engine made by Wannabe-Choppers. The bike is powered by an electric motor, with the motor concealed in the rear hub and battery etc in the "oil tank". Everything was made in hand-cast aluminium except the frame tubes. The bike only weighs 176 lbs!

VELO 700 VEE with shiny new exhaust
................................................................
Before the nasty exhaust-wrap was added (see V-TWIN NEWS PAGE 6) due to fried leg, the newly made pipe (by Alldens Exhausts) looked like this..... solution was to add a heat shield mounted to the exhaust wrap
CARSICKLE
At first glance, it looks like a car... and then a sidecar... but no -it's a Carsickle!
CRETINGHAM JAP MT750 PART 2
It's another Gilbert Sill /Cretingham Crank creation! An MTJAP 750 similar to the one next to it, but unfinished - as seen at the Copdock Show. Note the BSA gearbox inspection covers doubles as a footrest mount.
